This time, I would like to introduce you to UniTora. They offer a bowl of seafood topped with fresh sea urchins. Sea urchin is usually expensive and not often we can eat them, so I went for a treat for myself.
UniTora Nakadori is larger, but there is often a line and a wait at lunchtime. Since the menu and the atmosphere of the restaurant are the same, I went to Nishidori Branch this time. I will share my first impression upon visiting and recommended menu items. Let’s check it out!

Today I made an unexpected visit to UniTora and will introduce the menu I ordered and other menu items!!
If you want to try delicious sea urchins in Tsukiji, you have to see this to start!
This time I ordered ” Kanade” You can compare 3 kinds of sea urchins!

From the counter seats, you can watch the chef making the dish. It is exciting to see your own sea urchin being served in a bowl in front of you.
And here is my bowl!

While I was excitedly taking many pictures in front of the sea urchin, the chef was quietly waiting for me! Before I was ready to eat, he politely explained about the sea urchin of the day. Today’s sea urchins were, from right to left, “Nemuro,” “Kushiro,” and “Hamanaka” It’s called Bahun uni. The color of the looks is also quite different. There is also a generous amount of salmon roe and a large portion of tuna. The chef recommended not to add anything to the sea urchin, but to enjoy the different taste of the sea urchin itself.
First, I had each of the sea urchins. Comparing sea urchins from multiple regions is not something you encounter often, even if I work at Tsukiji. Lucky me! I can see the difference in sweetness and richness. It also comes with ginger, so you can refresh and enjoy tasting the difference. Of course, there is also soy sauce and wasabi, so if you want to add a little accent, just a little! But it is delicious as it is because the flavor of the sea urchin and salmon roe matches the vinegared rice. I mixed a little wasabi in soy sauce and dipped it into the soy sauce when I ate the tuna and rice. If you are not very good with chopsticks, ask for a spoon. The rice looks small, but the bowl is actually deep. The richness of the sea urchin and salmon roe will also fill you up.

5 kinds of sea urchins “Miyabi”, 3 kinds of sea urchins “Kanade”, and there are Japanese sea urchin bowls. There are different amounts and numbers of different types of sea urchins. And there is a variety of seafood other than sea urchins! In addition to the rice bowl menu, there is sashimi by itself, and sushi as well.
You can choose according to how much sea urchin you want to eat and what your budget is. Maybe you like sea urchins but can’t eat that much, you can also enjoy a seafood bowl with tuna or conger eel!

Atmosphere
There are only a counter and 7 seats, it is not suitable for large groups. It is less crowded than Nakadori branch so is recommended for smaller groups.
I get excited when I see my bowl of rice being made right in front of me at the counter! And I can see other orders too, so it makes me want to try other customer’s bowls of rice. It was quite hot the day I went to eat, but the counter was cool and comfortable to stay. So you don’t have to worry about the outside temperature to enjoy this restaurant.
